In the beginning…
The school stems from Wellridge, a small school that started on a
farm outside Wellington in 2000. Wellridge needed to grow and locate to a more accessible site, and yet remain
within a rural environment.
The owners of Diemersfontein, David and Susan Sonnenberg for some time had had the vision of a school on their estate and so it was decided to marry the principles of Wellridge, with the location of Diemersfontein (midway between Paarl and Wellington) to create a unique school known as Wellington Preparatory School.
About Us
An English medium and co-educational school, Wellington Prep is a welcoming school, of
people, of ideas and opportunities. It is an affordable facility with small classes (max. 18 learners), which in
turn encourage close relationships between the learners as well as between educators and learners. Small classes
also encourage lateral and creative thinking resulting in a focused, stimulating and exciting education where children
learn their individual importance within a group.
