About the Programme
The existing choice for music for 2 pianos ends up being a daunting task when realizing the vast existing repertoire out there. We had the choice between existing compositions and “standards” composed specifically for two pianos, and so called “arrangements” and/or orchestral reductions, some of them less appealing.

This programme revolves around music we both love and have passion and joy playing, and we varied the content to such an extent that it would have a wide audience appeal—something for everyone.

The internet has been a wonderful resource. We celebrate Mozart in our own way, especially since this year is 250 years since his birth. Scaramouche was our first “party piece” we worked on together, and the inspiration for the arranged works by Stefan Lombard of Winter, Chicago and Bumble Bee was definitely assisted by some good Diemersfontein Wine!

To celebrate this special event, we have integrated a few vocal surprises into this programme. We welcome and thank Melanie Scholtz for her contribution.

This promises not to be your standard concert. The aim is to celebrate the joy of piano music and the programme is designed to show the various colours, extremes and possibilities of two grand pianos playing together.
