Viognier, Violins and Good Vibrations Sunday Sunset Concert

Posted on the: 2007-05-14

Enchantress for Sunset Concert at Diemersfontein. The name Zanne Stapelberg is popping up everywhere and is well known and well loved by many Capetonians.

On Sunday 11 February around sunset the cool, green Manor House Gardens (and the resident owls) will be resounding with the musical tones of ‘Zanne’ featuring Zanne Stapelberg, the talented Stefan Lombard on piano and Anouk Epsli on the violin. At 6 pm for 6.30 pm Wellington residents, and visitors to the area, will be able to meet Zanne Stapelberg – star soprano, and experience her mesmeric presence and a voice to match, at the Diemersfontein Sunset Concert – Viognier, Violins and Good Vibrations.

Zanne, who recently collaborated with Mandoza at the Cape Town Jazzathon, will be performing in an opera-cabaret that demonstrates her versatility and such diverse songs as will form part of the programme. Zanne’s operatic performances have been met with sensational critical acclaim and established her as one of South Africa’s most exhilarating voices. Highlights include her portrayal of Marguerite in Cape Town Opera’s innovative production of Gounod’s Faust, the title role in Handel’s Alcina and Rosalinda in Strauss’s popular operetta, Die Fledermaus, as well as “Bravo! A Night at the Opera” at the Durban Playhouse. In 2004 she appeared in Cape Town City Ballet’s electrifying sold out season of Queen at the Ballet and, due to popular demand, again in 2005 and 2006.

Concert-goers will be able to savour Diemersfontein’s Carpe Diem Viognier 2005 with canapés that complement this white wine, and participants can bring their own picnics, delicious picnics can be ordered - made up by Seasons Restaurant at Diemersfontein. Tickets: R120 pp including wine and canapés. For bookings phone 021 864 5050 or email fanclub@diemersfontein.co.za.
